The authors' main interest is in iterates \((f^n)\) of a holomorphic function \(f:B\to B\) mapping the open unit ball \(B\) of a strictly convex Banach space \((X,\|\cdot\|)\) to itself. They prove that if \(f\) is fixed-point-free and condensing with respect to \(\alpha_{\|\cdot\|}\), then there is a point \(\xi\in\partial B\) such that the \((f^n)\) converges to the constant value \(\xi\) in the compact open topology. (Here, the notion of \(\alpha_{\|\cdot\|}\) condensing is with respect to Kuratowski's measure of non-compactness. See, e.g., [\textit{J. Banaś} and \textit{K. Goebel}, ``Measures of noncompactness in Banach spaces'', Marcel Dekker, New York (1980; Zbl 0441.47056)].) The proof makes use of \textit{M. Abate's} notion of horospheres, defined in terms of the Kobayashi distance, see, e.g., [Math. Z. 198, No. 2, 225-238 (1988; Zbl 0628.32035)].
