Dynamics and stability of nonlinear free vibration of thin rotating rings (Q1315760)

The paper extends the previous work of the author [J. Appl. Mech. 60, No. 2, 382-387 (1993; Zbl 0774.70018)] to the nonlinear free vibration of rings by analyzing some important aspects: the stability, the examination of internal and external damping effects, and the complete investigation of the interrelation and transition between the various types of ring motions as the angular velocity varies from zero to low and eventually to high values. In all cases examined, analytical results are verified and illustrated with numerical examples.
