A topological space \(X\) is called selectively absolute star-Lindelöf if, for every open cover \(\mathcal{U}\) of \(X\) and for every sequence \((D_{n})_{n < \omega}\) of dense subsets of \(X\), there exists a sequence \((E_{n})_{n < \omega}\) such that \(E_{n} \in [D_{n}]^{<\omega}\) for each \(n < \omega\) and \(St(\bigcup_{n < \omega}{E_{n}}, \mathcal{U}) = X\). This notion was recently introduced by \textit{P. Bal} and \textit{S. Bhowmik} in [Palest. J. Math. 6, No. 2, 480--486 (2017; Zbl 1366.54012)] and studied intensively by \textit{M. Bonanzinga} et al. [Topology Appl. 221, 517--523 (2017; Zbl 1376.54024)]. The present paper may be viewed as an addition to the latter paper. The authors provide an example of a pseudocompact Tychonoff space that is selectively absolute star-Lindelöf and contains a regular closed \(G_{\delta}\)-subset that is not selectively absolute star-Lindelöf. Assuming \(2^{\aleph_{0}} = 2^{\aleph_{1}}\), they show that there exists a normal selectively absolute star-Lindelöf space with a regular closed \(G_{\delta}\)-subset that is not selectively absolute star-Lindelöf. However, they prove that every open \(F_{\sigma}\)-subset of a selectively absolute star-Lindelöf space is selectively absolute star-Lindelöf. Additionally, they show that the extent of pseudocompact selectively absolute star-Lindelöf Tychonoff spaces can be arbitrarily large, i.e., for every cardinal \(\kappa\) there exists a pseudocompact selectively absolute star-Lindelöf Tychonoff space \(X\) such that \(e(X) \geq \kappa\).
