Topological quasi \(^*\)-algebras were introduced in [Wiss. Z., Karl-Marx-Univ. Leipz., Math.-Naturwiss. Reihe 30, 572--595 (1981; Zbl 0483.47027)] by \textit{G. Lassner} to find solutions of certain problems in quantum statistics and quantum dynamics. \textit{K. Schmüdgen} [Unbounded operator algebras and representation theory. Basel etc.: Birkhäuser Verlag (1989; Zbl 0697.47048)] reformulated the initial definition in the framework of algebras of unbounded operators, thus including many more examples. In this paper, the authors investigate topological tensor products of normed, respectively Banach quasi \(^*\)-algebras. Their motivation comes from the fact that tensor products are used to describe two quantum systems as one joint system. The preservation in the tensor products of several properties of their factors, such as, for instance, \(^*\)-semisimplicity and full representability, is investigated.
