The purpose of this paper is to study the initial value problem for some recently introduced dissipative active scalar equations for the unknown scalar \(\theta\) and variable \(x\) in dimension \(n\geq 2\). These equations, which arise in a large number of physical models, contain a fractional laplacian defined by an inverse Fourier transform. The velocity field is defined by a Riesz transform. The main result states that for certain constraints, there exists a unique global solution \(\theta\in BC([0,\infty))\). Furthermore, some symmetry relations for the solution are proved. The proofs use Sobolev embedding, integration by parts, Picard sequences, Hölder and Gagliardo-Nirenberg inequalities.
