Mathematicians publish their research papers in different journals, however on many occasions it became impossible to go through these papers for non-availability of the aforesaid journals. Therefore, it is indispensible to publish collected works of different mathematicians and this may be helpful to the present as well as future generations. Thanks to the authorities of Birkhäuser for their publication of the Collected Papers of K. T. Chen (1923-1987) who is perhaps best known to the world for his work on iterated integrals and power series in connection with his research on the cohomology of loop spaces. In this collected papers there are fifty-seven papers of K. T. Chen along with a short biography.
