    The paper deals with boundary value problems (1) \(x^{(4)} = f(t,x, x',x'', x''')\), (2) \(g_i (x(0), x'(0)\), \(x''(0), x'''(0)) = 0\), \(h_i (x(1), x'(1), x''(1), x'''(1)) = 0\), \(i = 0,1\) and (1) and (3) \(g_i (x(0), x(0), x''(0), x'''(0)) = 0\), \(i = 0,1,2\), \(h(x(1), x'(1), x''(1), x'''(1)) = 0\), respectively, and with the problem (4) \(x'' = f_1(t,x, y,x', y')\), \(y'' = f_2 (t,x, y,x', y')\), (5) \(g_i (x(0), y(0), x'(0), y'(0)) = 0\), \(h_i (x(1), y(1), x'(1), y'(1)) = 0\), \(i = 0,1\). Besides the continuity of \(f,f_i : I = [0,1] \times R^4 \to R\) and \(g_i, h_i : R^4 \to R\), there are used the generalized lower and upper functions and Nagumo type conditions.
