    An algebraizable singularity is a germ of a singular holomorphic foliation (defined by a differential equation \(A(x,y)dy=B(x,y)dx\), \(A\) and \(B\) being holomorphic) for which in some local chart \(A\) and \(B\) are polynomials. A saddle-node singularity is defined by a differential equation of the form \(x^2dy=(y+\cdots )dx\), where dots indicate higher order terms. The authors show that there exist at least countably many saddle-node singularities of the complex plane that are not algebraizable.
