The connection between orthogonal systems of rational functions with fixed poles and orthogonal polynomials with respect to the varying measures is studied. Ratio asymptotic formulas are obtained restricting the class of measures and the table of poles. An application to ratio asymptotics of the remainder of multipoint Padé approximation of Markov-type functions is derived.
