A bounded domain \(P\) in \(\mathbb{C}^n\) is called analytic polyhedron, if there exist holomorphic functions \(f_1,f_2,\dots ,f_l\) defined on an open neighborhood of the closure of \(P\) such that \[ P = \{ z = (z_1,\dots ,z_n) \in \mathbb{C}^n \mid |f_1 (z) |< 1,\dots ,|f_l(z)|< 1\}. \] Further, \(P\) is called normal if it satisfies \[ ({df _i}_1\wedge {df _i}_2 \wedge\dots\wedge {df _i}_k) \mid _p \neq 0 \] when \(|{f_i} _1 (p)|=\dots = |{f_i} _k (p)|=1\) for the unrepeated indices \(i_1,\dots ,i_k \in [1,\dots ,l].\) In particular, this paper studies the normal analytic polyhedra in \(\mathbb{C}^2\) and obtains the main result as follows: The bidisc is the holomorphic universal covering space of every normal analytic polyhedron in \(\mathbb{C}^2\) with a noncompact automorphism group. That means, a bounded normal analytic polyhedron in \(\mathbb{C}^2\) with smooth boundary and noncompact automorphism group must be a holomorphic quotient of the bidisc.
