On Giambelli's theorem on complete correlations (Q909741)

This paper is devoted to proving formulas for products of a large family of classes in the intersection rings of the spaces of complete quadrics and complete correlations. Such formulas have a deep geometrical sense and solve a large class of enumerative problems on quadrics and correlations which may be found in the classical work of Schubert and Giambelli. A relevant part of the work consists in obtaining formulas for the Segre classes of the tensor product of two locally free sheaves and for those of the second exterior power of a locally free sheaf, in both cases by means of Schur functions.
