The author generalizes a theorem of \textit{M. Laczkovich} [ibid. 58, No.~1--2, 135--142 (1999; Zbl 0934.39013)] by proving an interesting theorem concerning a kind of local stability of the Jensen's functional equation. He also applies his result to the investigations of \(\varepsilon\)-rigid mappings, \(\varepsilon\)-isometries and \(\varepsilon\)-quasi-isometries.
