    This paper provides resolvent convergence results for a magnetic Schrödinger operator in a planar infinite strip, one side of which is alternatively subject to a Robin or a Dirichlet boundary condition. Any segment on which is prescribed one boundary condition has a typical length depending on a small parameter \(\epsilon\). When periodic alternation takes place, a complete asymptotic of the bottom of the band spectrum is given. This framework offers a mix and some complements of previous works from the authors, particularly [the first author and \textit{G. Cardone}, J. Phys. A, Math. Theor. 42, No. 36, Article ID 365205, 21 p. (2009; Zbl 1178.81088)] and [the first author, Izv. Math. 67, No. 6, 1101--1148 (2003); translation from Izv. Ross. Akad. Nauk Ser. Mat. 67, No. 6, 23--70 (2003; Zbl 1067.35055)]. The former deals with the same geometry with periodic alternation of Neumann and Dirichlet boundary conditions while the latter deals with a bounded domain of the plane with non periodic alternating boundary conditions. Both deal with the Laplacian. In comparison to the quoted articles, the novelties of the present paper are the following: {\parindent=0.5cm\begin{itemize}\item[-] the operator is more general with variable coefficients. \item[-] Robin boundary conditions (compared to Neumann ones) are responsible for new asymptotics involving a parameter \(K\) characterizing the alternation. In particular, if the typical size of an interval on which is prescribed the Dirichlet condition is exponentially small compared to that of an interval on which is prescribed the Robin condition, then, under some smoothness conditions of the geometry, the author find an homogenized operator (still depending on \(\epsilon\) but in a slower way) involving a new Robin condition. If not, then the homogenized operator involves Dirichlet conditions. \item[-] Resolvent estimates are given for the first time for non periodic alternations. In particular the \(L^2\) convergence of the resolvent in the above situation takes place with a speed \(\epsilon\). However no convergence result is shown for the resolvent as an operator acting from \(L^2\) to \(W^{1,2}\). \item[-] As for periodic alternation, a transcendent equation involving the parameter \(K\) is given for the first band function and its Taylor expansion at the bottom is deduced. \end{itemize}}
