    The authors define an algorithm which provides expansions of \(p\)-adic numbers into series as follows. Let \(S_ p\) be the set of numbers in the form \(\sum^{0}_{n=q}c_ np^ n\) with \(q\leq 0\) and let \(A\in {\mathbb Q}_ p\). In the ``Sylvester-type'' Theorem, \(A\) is narrowed by the sequence \(p_ n/q_ n=a_ 0+\sum^{n}_{j=1}1/a_ j\) with all the \(a_ j\in S_ p\) \((j=0,...,n)\) and \[ | A-p_ n/q_ n|_ p=1/| a_{n+1}|_ p\leq p^{-(2^{n+1}-1)}. \] In the ``Engel- type'' Theorem, \(A\) is the limit of the sequence \(p_ n/q_ n=a_ 0+\sum^{n}_{n=1}1/a_ 1...a_ m\) and then \[ | A-p_ n/q_ n|_ p=1/| q_{n+1}|_ p\leq p^{-(n+1)(n+2)/2}. \] In the ``Lüroth-type'' Theorem, \(A\) has a series expansion in the form \[ a_ 0+\frac{1}{a_ 1}+\sum^{\infty}_{n=a}\frac{1}{[a_ 1(a_ 1- 1)]...[a_{n-1}(a_{n-1}-1)]a_ n} \] with similar properties of approximation.
