Let \(X\) be a variety over a field \(k\) and let \(X[T]:=X[t_1,\dots , t_r]\) denote its polynomial extension. \(X\) is called \(K_i\)-regular if the natural map \(K_i(X)\to K_i(X[T])\) is an isomorphism for all \(r\geq 1\), where \(K_i(X)\) is the \(i\)th-stable homotopy group of the non-connective spectrum \(K(X)\) of perfect complexes on \(X\). Given an abelian group \(A\), denote by \(A\{p\}\) its \(p\)-primary torsion group. The author proves the following Theorem: Let \(k\) be a field of positive characteristic \(p\), assume that resolution of singularities holds over \(k\) and let \(X\) be a variety of dimension \(d\) over \(k\). Then {\parindent5mm \begin{itemize}\item[1)] \(K_i(X,\mathbb{Z}/n)=0\) for \(i<-d-1\) and for all \(n\geq 1\). \item[2)] \(K_{-d-2}(X[T])\) is a divisible group and \(K_{-d-2}(X[T])=K_{-d-2}(X[T])\{ p\}\). \item[3)] \(K_i(X)=0\) and \(X\) is \(K_i\)-regular for \(i<-d-2\). \end{itemize}}
