Perhaps the largest number of works were written about random walks. The paper starts by the analysis of a discrete-time one-dimensional random walk with i.i.d. increments leaping over periodically distributed traps of finite length. In the discrete framework, the author obtains exact expressions for the mean first-passage time and the exponential decay of the survival probability, especially highlighting the role of the size of the traps, in the presence of a Laplace jump distribution. It is a very well edited, short and concise work.
