This work continues the author's research devoted to the study of properties of convex floating bodies. Consider the convex floating body of a polytope and polyhedral approximation of a convex body. As follows from the paper by \textit{I. Barany} and \textit{D. G. Larman} [Mathematika 35, No. 2, 274-291 (1988; Zbl 0674.52003)] the order of magnitude of \(vol_ n(P)-vol_ n(P_ s)\) for a polytope \(P\) is \(\delta(ln(1/\delta))^{n- 1}\). In this paper a precise formula for the magnitude of \(vol_ n(P)- vol_ n(P_ s)\) is given. This formula is applied to estimate the symmetric distance between a polytope and a convex body. The main difference to known estimates by \textit{R. Schneider} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 128, 470-474 (1987; Zbl 0629.52006)] is that the author does not assume that \(\partial C\) is \(C_ 2\). The methods of mathematical induction, ellipsoidal approximation of a convex body and the concept of simplex sequence converging to the convex polytope are used for proofs of many lemmas and theorems. At the beginning the results are proved for simplices and then they are generalized for polytopes and convex bodies.
