The paper analyses the interface treatment for multi-block solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations, with a solution based on a pressure correction method, discretized on a non-orthogonal grid. Investigated is the coupling with Neumann boundary conditions on both grid blocks, and, in a second approach, with Neumann-Dirichlet boundary conditions. According to the authors, the Neumann-Dirichlet boundary conditions allow more flexible grid arrangements and better pressure coupling between the grid blocks, while the accuracy for both conditions tested is comparable. Mass conservation across the interfaces is reported to be critical for convergence and accuracy of the solution. The multi-block solution is applied to the simulation of the two-dimensional flow in a hydraulic turbine distributor.
