In the last decade a large number of small bodies orbiting beyond Neptune and called trans-Neptunian objects were observed. Many of them are located near exterior mean motion resonance \(2:3\) with Neptune. There are also several trans-Neptunian objects close to \(1:2\), \(1:3\) and \(1:4\) resonances. Here, on the base of planar circular restricted three-body problem, the authors investigate the dynamics of exterior mean motion resonances \(1:2\), \(1:3\) and \(1:4\). The existence of symmetric and nonsymmetric periodic orbits is proved, and their stability is studied.
