Denote by T(g,n) the Teichmüller space of a Riemann surface of finite type (g,n) and suppose that \(\dim_{{\mathbb{C}}}T(g,n)=3g-3+n>0.\) There are three natural biholomorphic invariant metrics on T(g,n) - Teichmüller, Carathéodory and Kobayashi ones. Denote them by \(d_ T\), \(d_ C\) and \(d_ K\), respectively. It is well known [\textit{H. L. Royden}, Advances Theory Riemann Surfaces, Proc. 1969 Stony Brook Conf., 369-383 (1971; Zbl 0218.32011)] that \(d_ C\leq d_ K\leq d_ T\). The author has shown in Sib. Mat. Zh. 22, No.2, 209-212 (1981; Zbl 0477.32023) for \(3g+n>5\) and \(n\geq 1\) if \(g>2\) that \(d_ C\neq d_ K\) and every open subset of T(g,n) has points with a property \(d_ C<d_ K.\) In the present paper the author proves that for \(g\geq 2\) Teichmüller space \(T(g)=T(g,0)\) has the property \(d_ C\neq d_ K\) and \(d_ C<d_ K\) for some points in every neighborhood of every hyperelliptic point of T(g).
