Lösung von Differentialgleichungen mit Splinefunktionen. Eine Störungstheorie. I: Divergenzaussagen. (Solution of differential equations by splines. A perturbation theory. I: Statements about divergence) (Q1075025)

For the numerical treatment of ordinary differential equations the authors consider nonlinear splines depending on \(d+q+1\) parameters. The parameters are fixed by \(q+1\) smoothness conditions at the initial value \(x_ n\) and by d collocation conditions at \(x_ n+h\). The feasibility of the method for \(h\to 0\) is proved. Furthermore, a new and elementary proof for the divergence of the polynomial splines is given, if q is larger than \(d+1\) [see also \textit{H.
