The author considers a quantum Hamiltonian system consisting of \({\mathcal N}\) particles of the unit mass on the line interacting via a pair potential \(v\). Because of nonexisting of a definition for complete integrability a property named nondiffractive scattering is introduced. The necessary conditions on the pair potential \(v\) to be nondiffractive is obtained and formulated as proposition 1. Following the existing terminology, the asymptotic Bethe ansatz eigenstates are defined as well. In virtue of asymptotic expansions a theorem on the off-diagonal coefficient of the monodromy matrix of the Schrödinger operator is formulated. Two remarks upon the: case of delta-potential and multisoliton potential, as a discussion, conclude the paper.
