This paper is devoted to modelling elastoplastic deformations by the usage of equations of elasticity theory and Maxwell's relaxations and also applying a molecular dynamics method. The presented results of simulations are compared with experimental data on explosion welding of metal plates. This is done in order to think of an idea how to find the factors responsible for the wave formation during explosion welding of metal plates. Firstly, this problem was considered by M. A. Lavrent'ev in the early 60's and the considered paper is a continuation of so far presented achievements in this field. The paper is divided into four sections. After a short introduction, Section 2 gives a presentation of calculations of analytic results for solutions of explosion welding on the basis of Maxwell's relaxation model. The proposed basic model is expanded and calculations of new boundary points are presented. Results of analytical calculations are visualized by graphical examples. Comparisons between results of calculations and experimental data in different cases are demonstrated in Section 3. The paper is concluded in Section 4.
