The paper investigates properties of a Banach space that are known to be valid for (some) \(C(K)\)-spaces or \(C(K,X)\)-spaces. Such properties are the Daugavet property, numerical index~\(1\), lushness or the approximate hyperplane series property (AHSP). The authors study these properties, including their polynomial versions, in the setting of (vector-valued) uniform algebras. Sample result: For a uniform algebra \(A\) whose Choquet boundary does not contain isolated points and a Banach space \(X\), the space of all \(X\)-valued functions \(f\) for which \(x^*\circ f\in A\) for all \(x^*\in X^*\) has the polynomial Daugavet property. The proofs use a key result from [\textit{B. Cascales} et al., Adv. Math. 240, 370--382 (2013; Zbl 1298.46010)] which presents a Urysohn type lemma for uniform algebras that sharpens Bishop's classical \(\frac14\)-\(\frac34\)-condition [\textit{E. Bishop}, Pac. J. Math. 9, 629--642 (1959; Zbl 0087.28503); \textit{E. Bishop} and \textit{K. de Leeuw}, Ann. Inst. Fourier 9, 305--331 (1959; Zbl 0096.08103)].
