The main object of the paper under review is a Severi-Brauer variety \(X\) associated to a central division algebra \(D\) over \(K=\mathbb F(S)\), the field of fractions of a smooth projective geometrically integral surface \(S\) defined over a finite field \(\mathbb F\). Assuming that the index \(\ell\) of \(D\) is prime (different from the characteristic of \(\mathbb F\)), the author proves a vanishing theorem for the unramified cohomology in degree three: \(H^3_{\text{nr}}(K(X)/\mathbb F,\mathbb Q_{\ell'}/\mathbb Z_{\ell'}(2))=0\) for any prime \(\ell'\) different from the characteristic of \(\mathbb F\). In the case where \(X\) is a conic, this result was established by \textit{R.~Parimala} and \textit{V.~Suresh} [``Degree three cohomology of function fields of surfaces'', \url{arXiv:1012.5367}]. A local-to-global principle proved in their paper is also one of the key points of the proof in the paper under review.
