In studying oscillating systems, one frequently comes across certain specific second-order ordinary differential equations, in which the first derivative term is absent. The present work considers a families of numerical methods constructed by a ``generator''. These families have constant coefficients and free parameters, which in turn are calculated by employing a condition of minimal phase-leg. Stability and minimal local truncation error properties are studied, and the proposed methods are applied to the time independent Schrödinger equation. Numerical comparisons with other methods in the literature, are presented.
