Handling of research data in the SPP 2410 (CoScaRa)

Disclaimer

This example of the Section "Handling of research data" has been provided to all applicants within the SPP2410. The services mentioned here are specific to the University of Stuttgart, see Section 3.2 "Institutional repositories" of the MaRDI whitepaper.

Handling of research data

The Research Data Management in all projects of SPP 2410 will adhere to he FAIR guiding principles for scientific data management and stewardship following a strict open science policy.

To account for the specific requirements of mathematical and engineering research, the Research Data Management in the project will be arranged with the NFDI Consortium of Mathematics (MaRDI) via the SPP 2410 coordination project. MaRDI is dedicated to propel the FAIR data culture and research workflow within the National Research Data Initiative.

The relevant data in this project comprise mathematical documents, source code of software, and simulation data. For storing, labeling, and sharing our research data we employ persistent, DOI-providing services, that is DaRUS at the University of Stuttgart and RDMO at TU Darmstadt. The same applies for source code.

We will ensure to provide all necessary meta data (including version control) by using the corresponding functionality of DaRUS or RDMO. We strive to attach to all relevant data and software a DOI number for permanent mark-up. Since our software connects various subtools, and to guarantee high-level data quality it is envisaged to document numerical experiments by tools like Jupyter Notebooks.

The applicants have the full responsibility for the Research Data Management of the project data. If necessary, we will apply for financial support from the coordination project.
