Tldr We propose a novel time-domain direct sampling method for locating scatterers from a single incident source without imposing specific assumptions on the temporal profile of the excitation, leveraging a travel-time alignment mechanism to replace traditional P-S wave decomposition; we provide theoretical justifications and numerical experiments demonstrate its effectiveness in inverse elastic medium scattering.
