A double Mertens type evaluation
From MaRDI portal
We quote the author's abstract: ``We prove the formula \[ \sum_{pq\leq x}{1\over {pq}}=(\ln(\ln x)+B)^2 - \ln^2 2 + 2\int_{0+0}^{1\over 2}{{\ln(1-x)}\over x}\,dx + O\left({{\ln(\ln x)}\over {\ln x}}\right), \] where \(B\) is the Mertens constant. The present results improve on previously known bounds in the literature (see the paper for the references). The proof is entirely elementary, relying upon Dirichlet hyperbola method and Mertens second theorem.
