A proof of the local Borg-Marchenko theorem
The author studies the boundary value problem \[ M[u]=- u+ qu=\lambda u\quad\text{on}\quad [0,b),\;u(0)\cos\alpha+ u'(0)\sin \alpha= 0, \] where \(q\in L_{\text{loc}}'[0,b)\) is real-valued, \(0< b\leq\infty\) and \(\alpha\in [0,\pi)\). A boundary condition at the endpoint \(b\) is imposed so that the operator \(M\) induces a selfadjoint operator \(T\) on \(L^2[0,b)\). It is known that under certain conditions the Titchmarsh-Weyl function \(m(\lambda)\) of this operator determines the function \(q\) on \([0,b)\), and the author offers a new proof of this fact.
