Abstract operators and higher-order linear partial differential equations

From MaRDI portal

Abstract: For the linear partial differential equation P(partialx, partialt)u=f(x,t), where xinmathbbRn,;tinmathbbR1, with P(partialx, partialt) is prodi=1m(fracpartialpartialt−aiP(partialx)) or prodi=1m(fracpartial2partialt2−ai2P(partialx)), the authors give the analytic solution of the cauchy problem using the abstract operators etP(partialx) and fracsinh(tP(partialx)1/2)P(partialx)1/2. By representing the operators with integrals, explicit solutions are obtained with an integral form of a given function.
