Tldr This paper adapts Non-Linear Partition of Unity Methods for Scattered Data Interpolation (NL-PUM) by locally adjusting the RBF shape parameter and patch radius via Leave-One-Out Cross-Validation, resulting in a discontinuity-aware shrinkage process that reduces approximation errors near interfaces without prior knowledge of their geometry.
