Classification of linear mappings between indefinite inner product spaces

From MaRDI portal

Abstract: Let mathcalA:UoV be a linear mapping between vector spaces U and V over a field or skew field mathbbF with symmetric, or skew-symmetric, or Hermitian forms mathcalB:UimesUomathbbF and mathcalC:VimesVomathbbF. We classify the triples (mathcalA,mathcalB,mathcalC) if mathbbF is mathbbR, or mathbbC, or the skew field of quaternions mathbbH. We also classify the triples (mathcalA,mathcalB,mathcalC) up to classification of symmetric forms and Hermitian forms if the characteristic of mathbbF is not 2.
