The dataset contains information on the Coleccin Carcinolgica de Yucatn (federal register YUC-CC-255-11) at the Unidad Multidisciplinaria de Docencia e Investigacin, Facultad de Ciencias, UNAM. This dataset represents only specimens identified to genus and species (3951 specimens) from localities at the coast, depth sea, and coral reefs at the Gulf of Mexico and Mexican Caribbean for a period of time from 1976 to 2020. The specimens at the collection have been either identified or validated by professional crustacean taxonomists, providing a significant level of trust in the data. The taxonomists that participated in this process appear in the list of authors.
