Inverted Pn and Sn velocity model from "Uppermost mantle structure beneath eastern China and its surroundings from Pn and Sn tomography"
In this directory, it contains Pn, Sn velocity beneath eastern China in the XYZV format. Files:P.xyzv: Pn wavespeedS.xyzv: Sn wavespeedThe velocity are defined on regular grids with 1 degree by 1 degree with depth interval of 5 km. P_0.25.xyzv: Pn wavespeedS_0.25.xyzv: Sn wavespeedThe velocity are defined on regular grids with 0.25 degree by 0.25 degree with depth interval of 5 km. The four columns stand for longitude, latitude, depth, velocity.100.000000 17.000000 -10.000000 1.500417100.000000 18.000000 -10.000000 1.502226100.000000 19.000000 -10.000000 1.501874 P.xyzv ranges 100/140 17/60 -10/200 0.526386/8.820347 for longitude, latitude, depth and P wavespeed.S.xyzv ranges 100/140 17/60 -10/200 0.5/5.029679 for longitude, latitude, depth and S wavespeed. Please note that, Pn and Sn sample the uppermost mantle (downward to about 75km for P and about 65 km for S) well. The model has depth range of -10 km -- 200 km. This is because the inversion is a 3-D inversion, which defines velocity on regular grids in 3-D. Therefore, the mantle at depths 75--100 km for P and 65--100 km are little sampled. The velocity below 100 km should be inherited from the initial model. The velocities in continental regions have good resolution of 2-by-2 degree or better in most regions. In oceanic regions, the velocities are inherited from the initial model. For details, please refer to the papers below.
