Abstract: Let mathcalC be a mathcalV-enriched model category. We say that an object x of mathcalC is homotopy tiny if the total right derived functor of mathcalC(x,−):mathcalCightarrowmathcalV preserves homotopy weighted colimits. Let mathcalC0 be a full subcategory of mathcalC all of whose objects are homotopy tiny. Our main result says that the homotopy category of the category generated by mathcalC0 under weak equivalences and homotopy weighted colimits is equivalent to the homotopy category of the category mathcalVmathcalC0op of mathcalV-enriched presheaves on mathcalC0 with values in mathcalV. If mathcalC is generated by mathcalC0, then mathcalC is Quillen equivalent to mathcalVmathcalC0op. Two special cases of our theorem are Schwede-Shipley's theorem on stable model categories and Elmendorf's theorem on equivariant spaces.
