Discrepancy principle for DSM. II

Abstract: Let Ay=f, A is a linear operator in a Hilbert space H, yperpN(A):=u:Au=0, R(A):=h:h=Au,uinD(A) is not closed, |fdeltaf|leqdelta. Given fdelta, one wants to construct udelta such that limdeltao0|udeltay|=0. A version of the DSM (dynamical systems method) for finding udelta consists of solving the problem ee dotu_delta(t)=-u_delta(t)+T^{-1}_{a(t)} A^ast f_delta, quad u(0)=u_0, eqno{(ast)}eee where T:=AastA, Ta:=T+aI, and a=a(t)>0, a(t)searrow0 as toinfty is suitably chosen. It is proved that udelta:=udelta(tdelta) has the property limdeltao0|udeltay|=0. Here the stopping time tdelta is defined by the discrepancy principle: ee eqno{(astast)}eee cin(1,2) is a constant. Equation (ast) defines tdelta uniquely and limdeltao0tdelta=infty. Another version of the discrepancy principle is also proved in this paper.
