Existence, uniqueness and structure of second order absolute minimisers
From MaRDI portal
Abstract: Let be a bounded open set. In this paper we prove the existence of a unique second order absolute minimiser of the functional [ mathrm{E}_infty (u,mathcal{O}), :=, | mathrm{F}(cdot, Delta u) |_{L^infty( mathcal{O} )}, mathcal{O} subseteq Omega ext{ measurable}, ] with prescribed boundary conditions for and on and under natural assumptions on . We also show that is partially smooth and there exists a harmonic function such that [ mathrm{F}(x, Delta u_infty(x)) , =, e_infty, mathrm{sgn}ig(f_infty(x)ig) ] for all , where is the infimum of the global energy.
