Hyperexponential solutions of elliptic difference equations

From MaRDI portal

Abstract: Consider an elliptic curve mathcalC with coefficients in mathbbK with [mathbbK:mathbbQ]<infty and deltainmathcalC(mathbbK) a non torsion point. We consider an elliptic difference equation sumi=0lai(p)f(poplusi.delta)=0 with oplus the elliptic addition law and ai polynomials on mathcalC. We present an algorithm to compute rational solutions, then an intermediary class we call pseudo-rational solutions, and finally hyperexponential solutions, which are functions f such that f(poplusdelta)/f(p) is rational over mathcalC.
