Integrability of the Brouwer degree for irregular arguments

From MaRDI portal

Abstract: We prove that the Brouwer degree mathrmdeg(u,U,cdot) for a function uinC0,alpha(U;mathbbRn) is in Lp(mathbbRn) if 1leqp<fracnalphad, where UsubsetmathbbRn is open and bounded and d is the box dimension of partialU. This is supplemented by a theorem showing that ujou in C0,alpha(U;mathbbRn) implies mathrmdeg(uj,U,cdot)omathrmdeg(u,U,cdot) in Lp(mathbbRn) for the parameter regime 1leqp<fracnalphad, while there exist convergent sequences ujou in C0,alpha(U;mathbbRn) such that |mathrmdeg(uj,U,cdot)|Lpoinfty for the opposite regime p>fracnalphad.
