Introduction to effective field theory
From MaRDI portal
Abstract: An introduction to methods of effective field theory is given. Examples are presented, including Rayleigh scattering from nonrelativistic quantum mechnics, chiral perturbation theory/QCD as well as electromagnetic and weak interactions of nucleons.
An introduction to methods of effective field theory (EFT) will be presented. Such techniques are becoming widespread in particle/nuclear physics and allow a systematic and rigorous expansion of low energy amplitudes. Applications to both particle and nuclear physics will be presented, including some with astrophysical relevance.
