This paper presents a discretized projection method with Fourier series that is based on a modification of the fast Fourier transform. Systems of integro-differential equations with Cauchy kernel, boundary integral equations from the boundary element method and certain elliptic pseudodifferential equations on closed smooth curves are focused. Gaussian quadratures on families of equidistant partitions combined with the fast Fourier transform are used. Complete asymptotic error estimates including the quadrature errors are obtained and the clamped plate and plane elastostatics problems confirm the convergence rates.
