The authors proof that the statement that the single law: \(x.(((y.y).z).x)=z\) defines the variety of all commutative loops or Steiner loops is not true. For example, the commutativity cannot be derived from this law. The main results of the paper are the Theorems: The variety of Steiner loops is defined by the law \(x.(((((y.y).z).w).w).x)=z\). The variety of Steiner quasigroups (commutative quasigroups) is defined by the law \(x.((w.(w.(((y.y).z).y))).x)=z\).
