Vorticity-velocity formulation for three-dimensional steady compressible flows (Q1208886)

Authors solve the Navier-Stokes equations for compressible, steady, three-dimensional flows by using a vorticity-velocity formulation. This approach yields three Poisson equations and the vorticity transport equation for the three velocity components and the energy equation. Solutions were obtained on a single grid. The results belong to the first reported for this formulation. It is, however, open to question, whether this formulation will be able to compete with others, although the accuracy demonstrated is good.
