Let \(V\) be a finite dimensional linear space over a field \(K\). A bilinear form \(f(.,.)\) on \(V\) is called quasisymmetric (resp. quasiantisymmetric), if \(f(x,y) = f(y,Lx)\), where \(L=1_ V + N\) (resp. \(L= -1_ V + N)\) for some nilpotent endomorphism \(N\) of \(V\). The problem of describing quasisymmetric and quasiantisymmetric forms has been posed by \textit{A. N. Rudakov} [Math. USSR, Sb. 180, No. 2, 187-194 (1989); translation from Mat. Sb. 180, No. 2, 187-194 (1989; Zbl 0674.14010)]. The main result of the paper is theorem 1 stating that the group \(GL(V)\) acts on the set of quasisymmetric (resp. of quasiantisymmetric) forms with a finite number of orbits, if the field \(K\) has only a finite number of quadratic extensions. A complete list of indecomposable normal quasisymmetric (quasiantisymmetric) forms is given in lemma 4. (Remark that in that lemma, the condition \(\text{char} K \neq 2\) after formula (23) should read \(\text{char} K = 2\).) Some natural generalizations of this problem have also been treated. The results have been proven by means of direct matrix computations.
