    For a function \(\varphi\in\Phi\) (that is \(\varphi\in\Phi\) if either \(\varphi\) is positive, increasing on \((0,\infty)\) with \(\lim_{t\to 0_+}\varphi(t)=0\), or \(\varphi\equiv 1\)) and \(1\leq\theta\leq\infty\) let \(\text{BMO}_{\varphi,\theta}\), or \(H_{\varphi,\theta}\), be the class of all functions \(f\in L^1_{\text{loc}}(\mathbb R^ n)\) for which the quantity \[ \| f\| _{\text{BMO}_{\varphi,\theta}} =\begin{cases} \biggl( \int_\delta^\infty \Bigl( \frac{M_f(t)}{\varphi(t)}\Bigr) ^\theta dt\biggr) ^{1/\theta}&\quad \text{if \( 1\leq\theta<\infty\)}\\ \text{ess}\sup_{t>0}\Bigl( \frac{M_f(t)}{\varphi(t)}\Bigr) &\quad\text{if \( \theta=\infty\)},\end{cases} \] or \[ \| f\| _{H_{\varphi,\theta}} =\begin{cases} \biggl(\int_\delta^\infty\Bigl( \frac{\omega_f(t)}{\varphi(t)}\Bigr) ^\theta dt\biggr) ^{1/\theta}&\quad \text{if \( 1\leq\theta<\infty\)}\\ \text{ess}\sup_{t>0}\Bigl( \frac{\omega_f(t)}{\varphi(t)}\Bigr) &\quad\text{if \( \theta=\infty\)}, \end{cases} \] respectively, is finite (here \[ B(x,r)=\{y\in\mathbb R^ n; | x-y| \leq r\},\quad M_f(\delta)=\sup_{\substack{ x\in\mathbb R^ n\\ r\leq\delta}} \frac 1{| B(x,r)| } \int_{B(x,r)}| f(t)-f_{B(x,r)}| dt \] with \(f_{B}=\frac 1{| B| }\int_{B}f\), and \(\omega_f(\delta)=\text{ess}\sup_{\substack{ x,y\in\mathbb R^ n\\ | x-y| \leq\delta}} | f(x)-f(y)| \)). The author finds conditions on the function \(\varphi\) and the number \(\theta\) to get the coincidence \(\text{BMO}_{\varphi,\theta}=H_{\varphi,\theta}\), conditions guaranteeing boundedness of a certain singular integral operator \(A\) on \(\text{BMO}_{\varphi,\theta}\) and on \(H_{\varphi,\theta}\).
