    There is studied one phase Stefan problem with the unknown functions \(u(x,t) \) and \(s(t)\) \[ u_t=[d\,u_x-\alpha u P_x]_x + \big(m(x)-u\big)u \;\;\text{for} \;0<x<s(t) \;\text{and} \;t > 0, \] \[ d\,u_x-\alpha u P_x \;\;\text{for} \;x=0 \;\text{and} \;t > 0, \] \[ u(s(t),t) = 0, \;s'(t) = -\mu u_x(s(t),t) \;\text{for} \;t > 0, \] \[ s(0)=s_0, \;u(x,0) = u_0(x) \;\text{for} \;x\in[0,\,\infty), \eqno(P) \] where \(s_0 > 0, \;d > 0, \;\alpha >0.\) This problem is a mathematical model of the biological process of spreading of invasion species, in which \(u(x,t)\) is a density of species in \([0,\, s(t)]\), \(s(t)\) -- free boundary and \(s'(t)>0\). The author obtains the conditions on the coefficients and data of the problem (P), which lead to \[ \lim_{t\to+\infty}\big[\|\max_{x\in I} u(\cdot,t)\|_{C([0,\,s(t)])}\big] = 0, \;\text{if} \;s_\infty <+\infty \] or \[ \liminf_{t\to+\infty} \big[\max_{x\in I} u(x,t)\big] > 0, \;\text{if} \;s_\infty = +\infty, \] here \(I\subset [0, \infty)\) is any bounded interval, \(s_\infty := \lim_{t\to+\infty} s(t) \in (s_0,\,\infty].\)
