Diagram chasing in ordered categories with involution (Q1818637)

Continuing along the lines of earlier work of the author and others (especially Calenko), the existence and exactness properties of morphisms such as connecting homomorphisms are here studied in the context of ordered categories with involution. The author interprets many of his constructions in regular categories, and then shows how to associate an ordered category with involution (in two ways -- one his and one Calenko's) to a general category. The article ends with conditions under which the two constructions yield the same result; regularity of the original small category is sufficient.
