Schur P-polynomials are important polynomials which appear in various contexts (representation theory of queer Lie superalgebra, projective representations of symmetric groups, Grasmannians etc.). They enjoy many interesting properties parallel to Schur polynomials. Thanks to the works of several authors (Stanley, Worley, Assaf, \dots), It is known that these polynomials are Schur positive, that is they can be realized as character for a representation of the general linear group. In this paper, the authors propose a new proof of this fact. This approach is based on Stembridge's local characterization for regular graphs. The authors construct explicit operators on semistandard shifted tableaux and use Stembridge's axioms to prove that this define a normal crystal. This result is even extended by constructing a queer crystal on semistandard shifted tableaux of a given shape. Finally, the authors end the paper by giving local axioms for queer regular graphs that partially characterize queer crystals.
