The famous result of \textit{E. Stein} and \textit{G. Weiss} [Am. J. Math. 90, 163--196 (1968; Zbl 0157.18303)] is the basis for this paper. It states that for a sufficient large number \(p> q_0\) the function \(|F|^p\) is subharmonic, if \(F\) fulfils a generalized Cauchy-Riemann system. The authors get the same result for monogenic octonionic functions with \(q_0= 6/7\) and prove that \(q_0\) cannot be decreased. For quaternionic valued functions the result is contained in the habilitation paper [\textit{W. Sprössig}, Wiss. Z. Tech. Hochsch. Karl-Marx-Stadt 21, 889--894 (1979; Zbl 0497.30038)] of the reviewer. Lagrange multipliers and symmetries are used for the proof. A version of Phragmen-Lindelöf's theorem seems to be a useful corollary. Moreover, Hadamard's three circle theorem for monogenic octonionic valued functions is obtained.
